EnviTec Biogas Launches 40th Gas Upgrading Plant in France

Key highlights
  • The 40th EnviThan plant processes 100 tonnes of agricultural residues daily.
  • Biomethane is fed into the local gas grid operated by NaTran.
  • Construction of the plant took 12 months, with initial feed-in in July.
  • A new biogas plant in Montans is scheduled for commissioning in Q3 2026.

Project Overview

EnviTec Biogas has successfully launched its 40th EnviThan gas upgrading plant in Premierfait, France. The plant processes 100 tonnes of agricultural residues daily, converting it into biomethane.

Operational Details

The biomethane produced is fed into the local gas grid operated by NaTran. The plant is owned by three local farmers and was completed after 12 months of construction, with the initial feed-in occurring in July.

Technological Features

The plant includes on-site compression technology, allowing the outlet pressure of the biomethane to be adjusted to the required grid pressure of 70 bar using booster technology.

Future Developments

EnviTec is also planning a new biogas plant in Montans, northeast of Toulouse, with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. This plant will be designed to handle biowaste.
