EnviTec Biogas advances two French biomethane projects
- Biowatt will be converted to biomethane with an EnviThan unit rated 250 Nm³/h; delivery and commissioning are planned for end 2026.
- Valoverte is a new build with an EnviThan 280 Nm³/h unit and ~25 GWh/year output, with biomethane feed‑in from July 2027 to the GRDF grid.

Projects and partners
EnviTec Biogas is executing two projects for long‑standing French customers: converting the Biowatt site in Brittany to biomethane and building the Valoverte plant for recycling company Cler Verts in southwestern France. Both use EnviThan gas upgrading technology prefabricated at EnviTec's Saerbeck site.
Biowatt conversion
Originally commissioned in 2010 and expanded to 889 kW electrical capacity, Biowatt will be modernized and converted to biomethane with a 250 Nm³/h EnviThan unit. Works include mixer replacement, conversion of a residual material storage into an additional fermenter, fermenter roof renewal and integration of a biogas heating boiler. Delivery and commissioning are planned for the end of 2026, with biomethane fed into NaTran via a ~13 km community network to Loudéac for local tertiary heat; digestate remains in the regional agricultural cycle.
Valoverte new build
Valoverte follows an earlier 2015 plant delivered to Cler Verts. Earthworks are underway, tank installation is planned for September 2026, followed by pipeline works, assembly and delivery of a 280 Nm³/h EnviThan unit. The plant is designed to process agricultural residues and food‑industry by‑products (hygienized at a separate site) and is expected to feed around 25 GWh/year into the GRDF grid from July 2027.
Market context
Since 2007 EnviTec has completed 48 French projects; its French subsidiary employs 35 staff with headquarters in Plédran and a service location in Le Meux. The French multi‑year energy plan sets a biomethane target of up to 62 TWh by 2035, and the sector is shifting from regulated feed‑in tariffs toward a CPB certificate system whose final design is due soon.
