Context

Energy markets have shifted toward broader, integrated solutions; Equinor is reorganising to better capture market opportunities and increase long-term value creation.

New structure

The existing Marketing, Midstream and Processing (MMP) business area will be replaced by two separate business areas to improve alignment between strategy, operating model and organisation.

Midstream, processing and infrastructure

Led by Geir Sørtvedt, this unit will manage onshore refineries, operated terminals, pipelines, storage and processing plants, with responsibility for safe, efficient and reliable operations and increased flexibility in collaboration with Exploration and Production Norway.

Market and trading

Led by Irene Rummelhoff, this unit will centralise trading and marketing across products, apply digital solutions for market insight and customer-demand analysis, and drive commercial decisions across the company.

Timeline

An internal project will finalise the operating model before summer, with the new organisation planned to be operational in early 2027 and any reporting-segment impacts to be assessed as part of the project.
