Statkraft and SUNCATCHER to market three German solar‑battery projects

Key highlights
  • Three hybrid PV+battery projects (34.5 MWp PV; 12 MW / 24 MWh batteries) slated for commissioning in H2 2026.
  • SUNCATCHER will transfer the projects to Statkraft for marketing and optimisation under a profit-sharing agreement running to 2031.
  • Batteries will be charged exclusively by their solar plants; Statkraft will coordinate generation, storage and market operations to optimise charging and discharging.

Deal scope

Statkraft and SUNCATCHER signed an agreement at the end of February to market three hybrid solar PV plus battery projects in Germany; SUNCATCHER will transfer the assets to Statkraft for marketing and optimisation once commissioned.

Project details

The assets—Klötze II, Salzwedel and Seehausen—total 34.5 MWp of PV and 12 MW / 24 MWh of battery capacity; batteries will be charged exclusively by their connected solar plants.

Commercial arrangements

Solar generation will be sold under direct marketing and the parties agreed a profit‑sharing model for the battery storage assets; the agreement runs until 2031 with the intent to establish a longer‑term partnership.

Operations and optimisation

Statkraft will manage integrated control of generation, storage and marketing, coordinating battery charging/discharging with solar output, market signals and grid conditions to optimise revenues and provide transparent revenue structures for project bankability.

Timeline

The projects are scheduled for commissioning in the second half of 2026.
