Oman Chlorine SAOG announced that its Abu Dhabi sister company, Union Chlorine LLC (48.8% owned by Oman Chlorine), signed a contract on 12 November 2013 with a specialized international company for the engineering, supply and construction of a new plant.

Plant and output

The facility will be constructed in the ICAD Industrial Zone in Abu Dhabi and will produce caustic soda, acid and other related products.

Schedule and strategic aim

The plant is expected to commence trial production at 70 tonnes per day during the third quarter of 2015. The project is intended to support Oman Chlorine's strategic operations in neighbouring markets and expand its existing business with Oil & Gas service companies operating in the region.
