Portfolio Realignment

Solvay is undertaking a strategic portfolio realignment at its Bad Wimpfen site in Germany. The company plans to discontinue certain product lines, including Trifluoroacetic Acid (TFA)-related organics and some inorganics like Hydrogen Fluoride, by the end of 2026. This move is part of Solvay's broader strategy to secure long-term value creation in a challenging market environment.

Investment in NocolokⓇ Facilities

A key component of Solvay's investment strategy is the establishment of a state-of-the-art NocolokⓇ Paste & Paint facility at the Bad Wimpfen site. This includes relocating the NocolokⓇ Tech Center and production operations from Garbsen to Bad Wimpfen, consolidating expertise and reinforcing the site's role as a global hub for innovation and customer applications in automotive brazing.

Impact on Employment

The realignment and investment measures will result in a net reduction of approximately 100 positions at Bad Wimpfen and around 40 positions at Garbsen. Solvay is committed to managing the impact on employees in consultation with employee representatives, aiming for socially responsible solutions and support measures.

Financial Commitment

Solvay plans to allocate approximately €25 million, primarily in 2026, for restructuring expenses and strategic investments. This financial commitment underscores the company's focus on enhancing competitiveness and innovation at its German sites.
