Performance
As of the end of August, Sinopec's first 100 MW‑level wind power project — the supporting 112 MW wind power element of the Zhongyuan Oilfield Incremental Distribution Network Wind Power Hydrogen Production Demonstration Project — has produced a cumulative 430 million kWh since commissioning.
Capacity and infrastructure
The project comprises 23 wind power generating units, five switch stations, one energy storage system and 117 km of collector lines. It is sized to deliver an average of about 250 million kWh of stable electricity per year, with the generated green power integrated into the Zhongyuan Oilfield grid for local consumption.
Partnership and operational role
Zhongyuan Oilfield cooperated with Xinxing New Energy Company to redeploy abandoned well site resources and build the facility. Since full grid connection at the beginning of last year, operation and maintenance teams have maintained 24‑hour duty, real‑time monitoring, full‑coverage inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure long‑term stable operation. The project now supplies nearly a quarter of the oilfield headquarters' electricity demand.
