Sinopec and Inner Mongolia sign comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement

- Hou Qijun inspected multiple Inner Mongolia sites June 9–11, including a deethanization station, wind-solar hydrogen project, carbon-fiber and coal-chemical projects, and a new-energy research centre.
- The deal commits both parties to align with the '15th Five-Year' plans, deploy high-quality projects and implement directives from the Group's 2026 Work Conference and central leadership.
Agreement and attendees
China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec) and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government signed a comprehensive deepening strategic cooperation agreement in Hohhot on June 10. The signing was witnessed by Sinopec Group Party Secretary and Chairman Hou Qijun, Inner Mongolia Party Secretary Wang Weizhong, and Autonomous Region Party Deputy Secretary and Chairman Bao Gang; Deputy General Manager Chen Yanbin and Inner Mongolia Executive Vice Chairman Huang Zhiqiang signed on behalf of their parties. Autonomous Region leader Yu Lixin attended.
Scope and objectives
Sinopec said it will align its advantages with Inner Mongolia's high-quality development needs, deploy more projects and deepen practical cooperation. Inner Mongolia said it will strengthen alignment with the '15th Five-Year' development plans, improve the business environment and pursue mutual benefit with Sinopec to serve national development priorities.
Site visits and projects
During a June 9–11 visit, Hou Qijun inspected the Deethanization Processing Station at the Da Niudi Gas Field, the Yangmei 1HF pre-exploration well, the Wuren Du West Road and Baihe Road energy stations, the Zhongtian Hechuang wind-solar hydrogen production integration project, Shanghai Petrochemical's Xinjinshan carbon fiber project in Inner Mongolia, the Dalu coal chemical integration project of Great Wall Energy and Chemical, and the Sinopec New Energy Northern Research Center project site.
Implementation priorities
Hou emphasized studying and implementing directives from General Secretary Xi Jinping, executing the Group's 2026 Work Conference deployment, mobilizing resources to face challenges, advancing six major tough battles and pursuing secondary entrepreneurship to drive high-quality development.
