Project Overview

Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), in partnership with Sunlink Energies and Resources Limited, has made a final investment decision on the HI gas project offshore Nigeria. The project aims to supply 350 million standard cubic feet of gas per day to Nigeria LNG.

Production from the HI gas project is expected to commence before the end of this decade, contributing significantly to Nigeria's LNG output.

Field Details

The HI field, discovered in 1985, is situated in 100 meters of water depth, approximately 50 kilometers from the shore. The estimated recoverable resource volumes for the project are around 285 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Strategic Importance

This development aligns with Shell's strategy to increase its global LNG volumes by 4-5% annually until 2030 and supports Nigeria's economic development goals, including job creation in construction and operations.
