Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo) is a deep-water upstream subsidiary of Shell plc focused on offshore oil and gas exploration and production in Nigeria. Operating primarily under production sharing contracts with Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), SNEPCo is known for pioneering Nigeria’s deep-water developments, notably as operator of the Bonga field—Nigeria’s first deep-water oil and gas project, brought onstream in 2005—along with subsequent tiebacks and associated subsea infrastructure.
SNEPCo’s activities span appraisal, development, and production of hydrocarbons in the Gulf of Guinea, including operation of floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facilities and subsea systems. It works alongside NNPC Ltd and international partners under established contractual frameworks to supply crude oil and natural gas to domestic and export markets, including feed gas for LNG.
