Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) is Nigeria’s primary liquefied natural gas producer, operating a multi-train liquefaction complex on Bonny Island, Rivers State. The company is a joint venture owned by NNPC Limited (49.0%), Shell Gas B.V. (25.6%), TotalEnergies (15.0%), and Eni (10.4%). NLNG processes associated and non‑associated natural gas into LNG, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and condensates for export and for supply to the domestic market.
NLNG’s six-train facility has an aggregate nameplate capacity of about 22 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG, with additional output of LPG and condensate. An ongoing Train 7 expansion project is intended to increase total liquefaction capacity. The company plays a key role in monetizing Nigeria’s gas resources and reducing routine gas flaring by providing an outlet for associated gas from upstream oil and gas operations.
