The 2025 ESG Report, titled "Building a Sustainable Future," details Röhm’s sustainability strategy and achievements. Röhm aligned its reporting with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), exceeding minimum regulatory requirements. The company updated its double materiality assessment at the end of 2025.
Decarbonization
Röhm reports a total carbon footprint in 2025 that is 12% below its 2020 baseline. A key milestone was the commissioning of the Bay City, Texas MMA plant, which uses Röhm’s LiMA technology to improve yields, reduce energy and water use, and lower specific CO₂ emissions by up to 42% compared with conventional C3 and C4 processes. Corporate Carbon Footprints for 2023 and 2024 were externally validated in 2025.
Circular economy and product transparency
Röhm provides carbon footprint data and life cycle assessments for products that together account for 95% of total revenue. A Europe-wide PMMA recycling alliance increased recovery rates across the region in 2025.
Recognition, safety and engagement
Röhm retained an EcoVadis Gold rating in 2025 with an improved score and posted strong CDP results across Climate Change, Water Security and Supplier Engagement. Occupational safety improved by 157% year-on-year. The company supported the "Im Zeichen der Lilie" initiative, engaging over 200 students in 2025.
