Repsol Achieves 1,500 Stations Offering 100% Renewable Nexa Diesel in Spain and Portugal

Key highlights
  • Repsol has over 1,500 stations in Spain and Portugal offering 100% renewable Nexa Diesel.
  • More than 40% of Repsol's network provides renewable fuel, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 90%.
  • Repsol's Cartagena plant produces 100% renewable fuels, with a second plant planned for 2026.
  • Nexa 95 Gasoline, a 100% renewable fuel, is available at 30 stations in select Spanish regions.

Expansion of Renewable Fuel Stations

Repsol has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 1,500 service stations in Spain and Portugal that supply 100% renewable Nexa Diesel. This development aligns with the company's 2024-2027 strategic plan, reinforcing its commitment to renewable fuels.

Impact on CO₂ Emissions

With over 40% of its service stations offering renewable fuel, Repsol demonstrates that decarbonizing transport with renewable liquid fuels is feasible. The 100% renewable Nexa Diesel reduces the carbon footprint by up to 90% compared to conventional fuels, supporting EU climate targets.

Production Facilities and Future Plans

Repsol operates the first large-scale plant in the Iberian Peninsula for producing 100% renewable fuels in Cartagena. A second plant is planned for 2026 at the Puertollano industrial complex, with an annual capacity to produce 200,000 tons of renewable fuel for road and maritime transport.

Development of Renewable Gasoline

Repsol has developed 100% renewable Nexa 95 Gasoline, available at 30 service stations in regions such as Madrid, Catalonia, and Valencia. This fuel, designed to optimize engine performance, is a result of over two decades of research and is produced at the Tarragona complex.
