- Power2X awarded Rely the EPC contract for the Djewels green hydrogen plant in Delfzijl (3,000 tpa).
- Project has reached Final Investment Decision (FID) and Notice to Proceed (NTP), moving to construction.
- Plant features a 20MW Clear100+ electrolyser module integrating John Cockerill Hydrogen's pressurized alkaline electrolysis technology.
Project scope
Rely was awarded the EPC contract for Djewels, a green hydrogen plant at Chemical Park Delfzijl featuring a nameplate 3,000 tpa capacity and a 20MW Clear100+ electrolyser module; during full operation the plant will supply roughly 2,000 tonnes/year to regional industrial customers.
Technology
The plant integrates John Cockerill Hydrogen’s pressurized alkaline electrolysis, designed for higher pressure and current densities to improve production efficiency and reduce footprint and cost for future larger facilities; John Cockerill will supply electrolyzers manufactured in its European factory.
Timeline and execution
Djewels has reached Final Investment Decision and Notice to Proceed and is entering construction, with first production expected mid-2028; Rely— a joint venture of Technip Energies and John Cockerill—will provide EPC services, plant performance guarantees and delivery certainty.
Partners, permits and support
The plant will be directly connected to Nobian’s facilities, with Nobian as a strategic partner; the project received support from the Province of Groningen, Waddenfonds, the EU Clean Hydrogen Partnership and the Ministry of KGG, and all permits are in place; Djewels is Power2X’s first project to enter construction following its acquisition of HyCC.
