- The Omni200 plant will start operations in 2026.
- It will convert 200 tonnes of waste per day into syngas.
- The plant will produce 66,000 tonnes of methanol annually.
- This will reduce CO2eq emissions by 100,000 tonnes per year.
Project Announcement
OMNI Conversion Technologies Inc. (OMNI) announced it will supply its Omni200 plant to help Zaragoza, Spain, become the first "Zero Waste" city. The technology will convert non-recyclable waste into methanol and clean hydrogen.
Press Conference
On March 22, 2023, OMNI's Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Jordi Gallego, and Zaragoza’s Regional Minister for Public Services and Mobility, Natalia Chueca, discussed the project at a press conference in Zaragoza.
Omni200 Plant Details
The Omni200 plant is expected to begin operations in 2026. It will convert non-recyclable waste into clean syngas, producing approximately 66,000 tonnes of methanol per year and avoiding around 100,000 tonnes of CO2eq emissions annually.
Technology Specifications
The Omni200 is a thermal chemical conversion system proven at an industrial scale. It processes 200 tonnes of waste per day (67,000 tonnes per year) into consistent syngas with a predictable heating value and composition. The system can be tailored for various applications and combined for larger plants.
