Quarterly results
LOTTE Chemical reported consolidated revenue of KRW 5.6864 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 110.1 billion in Q2 2026, maintaining profitability for a second consecutive quarter despite continued global supply-chain uncertainty linked to Middle East geopolitical issues.
Business unit performance
The Basic Chemicals segment posted revenue of KRW 3.9403 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 2.3 billion, with quarter-on-quarter profitability pressured by scheduled maintenance and lagging feedstock-price effects. Advanced Materials recorded revenue of KRW 1.1551 trillion and operating profit of KRW 132.5 billion, benefiting from wider product spreads and favorable foreign-exchange impacts. LOTTE Fine Chemical reported revenue of KRW 586.3 billion and operating profit of KRW 61.9 billion. LOTTE Energy Materials had revenue of KRW 194.2 billion and an operating loss of KRW 16.9 billion; sales volumes rose but one-off favorable lag effects from the prior quarter were absent.
Restructuring and portfolio shift
The Daesan plant completed a spin-off in June and is preparing to launch an integrated entity in September. Yeosu’s restructuring plan was approved in July and is moving into discussions on an integrated operating system. The Yulchon compounding plant is due for completion and commercial operation within the year to boost compounding capacity and expand high-value-added product mix, including super engineering plastics.
Outlook and actions
Management expects external uncertainties and feedstock-price volatility to persist into Q3 and a delayed global-demand recovery. Planned responses include production optimization, competitiveness improvements, expanding specialty and high-value-added businesses, and strengthening financial structure.
