Government Grant
Lhyfe has received confirmation from the French government of a grant up to €149 million for constructing a green hydrogen production plant near Le Havre. This project has been approved by the European Commission as part of the third wave of IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest) on hydrogen.
Project Details
The plant will have an installed electrolysis capacity of 100 MW and aims to produce up to 34 tonnes of green hydrogen per day. The site will be located on a 2.8-hectare plot in Gonfreville-l’Orcher and is scheduled to be operational by 2028.
Strategic Location
The production site is close to the Yara plant in Le Havre, which plans to use green hydrogen as part of its decarbonization roadmap. Yara supports Lhyfe’s project and will explore potential collaborations to decarbonize its industrial processes.
Regulatory Approvals
Implementation of the project is subject to obtaining operating authorizations, construction permits, and final financial investment decisions by Lhyfe and its main partners.
