Project Overview
Indorama Ventures and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) completed the third year of their Sustainable Plastic Waste Management Project. The initiative, running from 2023 to 2025, engaged over 31,200 participants, focusing on waste separation and PET plastic recycling in Bangkok schools.
Educational Initiatives
The project included education roadshows in 100 BMA schools, training 9,695 teachers and students on waste sorting and PET recycling. Teaching manuals were distributed to integrate circular economy principles into classroom teaching.
Training and Recognition
The PET Train the Trainer program enhanced the skills of 40 teachers from 20 schools, while 164 schools received awards for excellence in sustainable plastic waste management. Model teachers shared experiences to inspire new participants.
PET Collection and Recycling
In collaboration with WasteBuy Delivery CO.LTD., the project collected over 3.5 tons of PET bottles in 2025, reducing landfill use by more than 11 cubic meters. The bottles were sent to Indorama Ventures’ facility for recycling into new products, supporting circular economy principles.
