Iberdrola Uses Seville-Made Solutions for German Offshore Wind Farm Protection

Project Overview

Iberdrola is utilizing an innovative solution from Revestimientos Técnicos Sostenibles (RTS) to protect 21 transition pieces at its Windanker offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. These pieces, located between the foundation and the tower of the wind turbines, are coated with a natural cork compound designed for marine conditions.

Production and Collaboration

The transition pieces were produced by Windar in Avilés, Spain. RTS, based in Utrera, Seville, has evolved to offer marine protection solutions, supported by Iberdrola's PERSEO innovation program, which promotes energy transition solutions.
