Agreement
Haltermann Carless and INERATEC have signed a Letter of Intent to cooperate on the ERA T.H2 project, with Haltermann Carless intending to purchase a significant volume of bio‑eSAF and bio‑eNaphtha annually for a minimum of ten years following the plant's commissioning.
Project and schedule
ERA T.H2 is described as one of the world’s first commercial Power‑and‑Biomass‑to‑Liquids (PBtL) facilities, located in Normandy. Commissioning is scheduled for 2029, with commercial processing expected to start in 2031.
Feedstock and output
The facility will use sustainably sourced residual wood biomass from regional forests and industrial operations together with renewable energy. From 2031 it is expected to process about 60,000 tonnes of residual wood biomass per year and produce at least 13,000 tonnes per year of Fischer‑Tropsch products, including e‑SAF for aviation and e‑Naphtha as a basic chemical feedstock.
Strategic intent
The partnership and long‑term offtake aim to support the plant ramp‑up and market adoption of synthetic fuels and renewable hydrocarbons, creating a regional circular value chain to help decarbonize aviation, mobility and other hard‑to‑abate sectors while building on Normandy’s industrial base.
