- MetAMINO® quality and 36-month shelf life remain unchanged.
- Transition to new bags starts in Antwerp, with Singapore and Mobile to follow.

Introduction of New Packaging
Evonik has launched a new 25-kilogram paper bag for MetAMINO® (DL-methionine), removing the plastic film layer to enhance environmental sustainability. This change supports the EU’s ‘Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation’ (PPWR) aimed at improving recycling efforts.
Environmental Impact
The new packaging, made of two layers of paper, is recyclable as a pure paper bag (PAP 22) under EU recycling classification. At the Antwerp production site, this initiative will save 32 tons of polyethylene (PE) annually and reduce the packaging’s CO2 footprint by 20%.
Product Integrity
Extensive testing has confirmed that the quality of MetAMINO® remains unchanged in the new packaging, and its 36-month shelf life is unaffected. This ensures that the product continues to meet customer expectations while contributing to sustainability goals.
Future Plans
The transition to the new paper bags has begun in Antwerp, with plans to extend the initiative to the Singapore and Mobile (USA) sites. This effort is part of a broader strategy to reduce plastic use in the packaging of MetAMINO® and other feed ingredients.
