Technology overview
Evonik has launched a new generation of isodewaxing catalysts that incorporate Zeopore's proprietary mesoporized zeolite technology from Belgium into Evonik's catalyst and precious‑metal expertise to optimize zeolite porosity and active‑site access.
Performance improvements
Mesoporization intensifies isomerization and reduces unwanted cracking, increasing selectivity, lowering light‑gas formation and hydrogen consumption, and helping to reduce the overall CO₂ footprint while maintaining higher activity levels.
Demonstrated results
Tests in diesel dewaxing show up to a five‑fold reduction in product losses versus conventional solutions and significant recovery of base oils typically lost during dewaxing; the mesoporized catalysts are feedstock‑agnostic and sustain strong conversion across diverse hydrocarbon streams.
Applications and industrial use
The catalysts are positioned for refinery and renewable‑fuel producers to raise yields, improve cold‑flow properties and support expanded production of low‑carbon fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, with Evonik integrating Zeopore materials into its commercial catalyst portfolio.
