EnviTec Biogas and LIQVIS expand Bio‑LNG network

Key highlights
  • LIQVIS operates 15 LNG filling stations in Germany and is expanding its network.
  • Bio-LNG is liquefied biogas produced from agricultural residues, manure, organic waste or sewage sludge.
  • Bio-LNG enables heavy-duty trucks to reach up to 1,700 km, allows ~15-minute refuelling and is marketed below EUR 1/kg (net).
  • LIQVIS was founded in 2015 and joined EnviTec Biogas Group in 2025; EnviTec sources Bio-LNG from nearly 100 biogas plants and the BioEnergie Park Güstrow liquefaction facility.

Bio-LNG characteristics

Bio-LNG is the liquefied form of biogas produced by fermenting agricultural residues, manure, organic waste or sewage sludge; it is not linked to international gas price indices and shows lower price volatility than conventional LNG.

Benefits for heavy-duty transport

Compared with fossil LNG, Bio-LNG reduces CO2 emissions for heavy trucks, offers driving ranges up to 1,700 km depending on the vehicle, enables refuelling in about 15 minutes and is marketed at prices cited below EUR 1/kg (net).

Network and operations

LIQVIS operates 15 LNG filling stations in Germany, focused on high HGV-traffic transport hubs, and the country hosts over 200 Bio-LNG filling stations overall; further filling-station projects are planned.

Supply chain

As part of EnviTec Biogas Group, LIQVIS can access Bio-LNG volumes from nearly 100 biogas production plants across Europe and from the BioEnergie Park Güstrow, an integrated Bio-LNG liquefaction facility in Germany.
