Contract Signing
Eni and the Ivorian Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy have signed an exploration contract for the CI-707 offshore block in Abidjan.
Block Details
The CI-707 block spans approximately 2,926 square kilometers in the Ivorian sedimentary basin, with water depths ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 meters. The exploration period is set for a maximum of 9 years.
Strategic Location
The new licence area is geologically continuous with the nearby CI-205 block, where Eni discovered oil in March 2024. This proximity offers strategic opportunities for identifying similar structures and future developments.
Current Operations
Eni has been operating in Côte d'Ivoire since 2017, with current production exceeding 62,000 barrels of oil and 75 million cubic feet of gas per day. This is expected to increase to 150,000 barrels of oil and 200 million cubic feet of gas with the start of phase 3.
