eFuels SEA launches Southeast Asia eFuel platform using Infinium tech

Key highlights
  • eFuels SEA, headquartered in Singapore, will develop 3-5 eFuel production projects across Southeast Asia to convert captured CO2 and renewable power into drop-in fuels
  • Infinium will license its proprietary ultra-low carbon eFuels technology that converts renewable electricity, water and waste CO2 into liquid fuels including sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF)
  • Infinium operates the first commercial-scale eFuels plant in Corpus Christi, Texas (online 2023) and is constructing a second facility in Pecos, Texas

Overview

eFuels SEA, headquartered in Singapore, launched a regional development platform to advance electrofuel projects that convert captured CO2 and renewable power into drop-in sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) and other ultra-low carbon liquid fuels.

Technology

The company will license Infinium’s ultra-low carbon eFuels process, which uses renewable electricity, water and waste CO2 to produce liquid fuels compatible with existing fuel supply infrastructure; Infinium operates a commercial-scale plant in Corpus Christi (online 2023) and is building a second facility in Pecos, Texas.

Regional strategy

eFuels SEA targets 3–5 projects across multiple Southeast Asian countries, citing favorable demand fundamentals and emerging hydrogen and carbon management policies in markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia that support large-scale deployment and potential exports.

Development approach

An Asia-based management team with experience in energy markets, project finance and industrial development will work with regional partners to accelerate project siting, workforce reskilling and alignment with local decarbonization and energy security objectives.
