Project
DePoly will bring a 500‑tonne-per-year showcase plant into operation in Monthey this summer to demonstrate industrial‑scale implementation of its PET and polyester recycling process.
Technology and validation
The proprietary process converts PET and polyester waste into virgin‑quality, oil‑equivalent monomers without using fossil fuels. DePoly says its recycled monomers have been validated through collaborations with companies across fashion, cosmetics and consumer goods—examples cited include Odlo and PTI—and used to produce bottles, high‑performance textile fibers and cosmetic packaging.
Funding and investors
DePoly closed an additional $23 million in seed funding with MassMutual Ventures joining the round, bringing total capital and grants to more than $30 million across two rounds. Other investors named include Founderful, ACE & Company, Angel Invest, Zürcher Kantonalbank, BASF Venture Capital, Beiersdorf Venture Capital and Syensqo.
Roadmap and leadership
The company plans a commercial‑scale plant in 2027 to process significantly larger volumes. David Hanf, who joined as CFO in 2024, and CEO Samantha Anderson framed the showcase as a validation step between pilot work and industrial deployment, with an aim to reach pricing competitive with virgin materials.
