Production and Expansion
At its Ghent-based production site, Chevron primarily manufactures lubricating oils for industrial and automotive applications. Over the past decade, significant investments have been made at this site. Due to increasing complexity in the lubricants market and the demand for new additional lubricants, Chevron has decided to further expand its operations.
New Logistics Hall
In the summer of 2021, Chevron submitted a permit application for the construction of a new logistics hall, expanding the existing production hall. The new 2,000 m² space is intended for the storage of additives. To minimize environmental impact, the logistics hall will be equipped with solar panels. This project marks the first phase in a broader expansion strategy for the Ghent production facility, which will include the installation of additional storage tanks.
Previous Developments
In 2019, logistics services provider H.Essers opened a dedicated warehouse at Kluizendok in North Sea Port Ghent for Chevron. This warehouse has become the main hub for the lubricating oils produced at Chevron's Ghent plant.
