Braskem, a leading polyolefins producer, and Katoen Natie, a global logistics company, have partnered on a warehouse project in Singapore. This collaboration aims to enhance logistics for bio-based products in Southeast Asia.
Braskem's Expansion
Braskem expanded its presence in Southeast Asia in 2011 and began polymer sales in Singapore in 2018. The company has since established a logistics hub and a Representative Office in Tokyo, Japan, to support its operations in the region.
BraskemSiam Joint Venture
In 2023, Braskem and SCG Chemicals formed the joint venture BraskemSiam to produce bio-ethylene from bio-ethanol dehydration in Thailand. The project is nearing the final investment decision stage.
Warehouse Objectives
The new warehouse will support the distribution of I'm green™ bio-based polyethylene (PE) and ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), reducing transport routes to customers in Southeast Asia. Katoen Natie aims to optimize logistics performance, lead times, and inventory levels.
