Partnership Extension

BASF has decided to extend its partnership with Energy21 to strengthen its position in the energy market. This collaboration aims to maximize the value of BASF's energy data, supporting better business decision-making through Energy21's digital solution, EBASE.

EBASE Platform

The EBASE platform is a digital tool that processes large quantities of energy data, reflecting BASF’s site topology. By analyzing this data, BASF can improve individual planning and operations of utilities, considering energy prices, market contracts, technical boundaries, and regulatory requirements.

Operational Benefits

Frederic Viaene, Head of Utility Management at BASF, highlighted the platform's role in developing the energy-intensive industry. The partnership with Energy21 allows BASF to operationalize its 'Verbund strategy,' linking and collecting different utilities into a one-source system. This integration helps BASF fulfill its role as a grid operator and optimize energy operations without compromising primary production processes and sustainability goals.

Continuous Development

The decision to prolong the contract was driven by Energy21's energy expertise and dedicated DevOps team, which supports the continuous development of the EBASE platform. Frank de Jong, COO of Energy21, expressed excitement about extending the relationship with BASF and supporting further digitalization efforts.
