Expansion in Thailand
BASF has expanded its Alkyl Polyglucosides (APGs) production capacity in Bangpakong, Thailand. This move aims to enhance regional supply and meet the growing demand for sustainable surfactants in Asia.
Global Network and Future Plans
The expansion complements BASF's existing APG production sites in Düsseldorf, Germany; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Jinshan, China. A new APG production line in Cincinnati is scheduled for completion in 2026, further boosting capacity in North America.
APG Characteristics and Applications
APGs are bio-based, readily biodegradable surfactants derived from 100% natural, renewable feedstocks. Their sustainable and high-performance profile, along with their non-ionic nature, makes them versatile for formulation with other surfactants. They are used in personal care, home care, industrial cleaning, and agricultural markets.
