Overview
Arq published its 2025 Sustainability Report detailing a year of growth in powdered activated carbon (PAC), the commissioning and subsequent pause of granular activated carbon (GAC) production, and measures to reset sustainability plans based on lessons learned.
Financial and operational highlights

The company served 116 active customers across 217 sites with 204 full-time employees and held 74 U.S. and 16 international patents issued or allowed as of December 31, 2025.
Environmental performance
Corbin reduced water usage by ~50%, returning about 134 million gallons to Lynn Camp Creek, and Red River achieved a small reduction in natural-source water use despite expansion. Five Forks Mine reclaimed 29 acres and 1,826 linear feet of stream in 2025, with 72,200 trees planted since 2012.
People, safety and governance
Safety was embedded as the first of five reset core values, with zero lost-time incidents in 2025. Delivery performance was 98% on-time and in-full across 2,230 loads. Governance updates include a Global Modern Slavery and Anti-Human Trafficking Policy and a Supplier Code of Conduct implemented as of September 2026.
Emissions and baseline
Arq reported Scope 1 emissions of 15,703.93 MT CO₂e and Scope 2 of 3,590.23 MT CO₂e for 2025, linked to increased natural gas use and reduced steam-powered generation; GAC remains paused and 2026 will be used as a new baseline year for normalized PAC production at Red River.
