Arkema has announced its intention to divest certain businesses in impact modifiers and processing aids to the Indian group Praana. These additives are used in manufacturing PVC profiles, pipes, packaging, and engineering plastics. The divestment aligns with Arkema's strategy to refocus its portfolio on strategic activities.

Scope and Details

The divestment includes the global scope for Methyl Methacrylate Butadiene Styrene (MBS) copolymers and the European and Asian scope for acrylic copolymers (AIMPA). These activities are part of Arkema's Coating Solutions segment, which generated €44 million in sales in 2024.

Facility and Employment

The transaction involves the divestment of the Vlissingen production facility in the Netherlands, which employs 50 people. However, Arkema will retain its Mobile plant in the United States and all its American AIMPA businesses.

Timeline and Conditions

The proposed divestment is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2026. It is subject to a preliminary information and consultation process involving employee representative bodies in the Netherlands.
