- Draslovka makes a €19.3M in-kind investment to convert a Kolín line for production of Altris sodium-ion cathode active material (CAM).
- The line will produce up to 350 tonnes/year of CAM, roughly 175 MWh of sodium-ion cell capacity.
- Production start is planned for late Q3 to early Q4 2026 to establish a European sodium-ion cathode supply.
Partnership and investment
Altris and Draslovka have formed a strategic partnership to establish Europe’s first industrial-scale sodium-ion cathode value chain, with Draslovka providing a 19.3 MEUR in-kind investment to co-fund conversion of a production line at its Kolín facility and securing licences, process know-how and a jointly developed plant design for Altris.
Manufacturing scale and timeline
The converted line will produce Altris’ patented sodium-ion cathode active material (CAM) at up to 350 tonnes per year (around 175 MWh of sodium-ion cell capacity), enabling rapid time-to-market via an existing facility; production start is planned for late Q3 to early Q4 2026.
Strategic rationale
Local production in Kolín and preparation for larger-scale capacity create a Western, sodium-ion-based alternative to lithium-only supply chains, reducing reliance on imported inputs and supporting a more resilient European battery materials ecosystem.
