New Molybdenum Plant
Air Liquide has launched a new molybdenum manufacturing plant in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. This facility is the largest of its kind globally and aims to supply leading semiconductor customers with advanced materials.
Subleem™ Offering
The Subleem™ offering includes a portfolio of ultra-high purity molybdenum molecules and proprietary distribution systems. Developed in collaboration with semiconductor manufacturers, it supports the industry's shift towards molybdenum as a promising alternative to tungsten.
Strategic Expansion
In addition to the South Korean plant, Air Liquide operates a production unit in Japan since 2023 and plans to open another manufacturing plant in the United States by the end of 2025. These expansions aim to meet the growing demand for molybdenum in semiconductor manufacturing.
Technological Advancements
Molybdenum is emerging as a replacement for tungsten in chip manufacturing, enabling the production of advanced memory and logic chips driven by AI applications. This shift is crucial for the next generation of semiconductor technology.
