Awards and Recognition
On June 29th, HAROPA, the 5th port complex on the North-European range, received two prestigious awards: Best Seaport in Europe and Best Green Port. These accolades were determined by over 18,000 port professionals and supply chain experts, highlighting HAROPA's competitiveness and environmental commitment, particularly in the Asian market.
Key Achievements
HAROPA's success is attributed to several key factors. The port complex offers two daily connections with Asia and 10 weekly services, boasting competitive transit times, such as 21 days to Singapore, which is faster than other major European ports. HAROPA's terminals can handle the largest ocean vessels, and the port provides efficient customs processes, with 99% of goods cleared in less than five minutes.
Technological Advancements
HAROPA is also recognized for its technological innovations. The port complex has developed "customer solution 4.0," which includes unique performance indicators, an active partnership with French Customs, and the deployment of the advanced Port Single Window system, "S)One." Additionally, the TRAFIS Lab in Le Havre focuses on facilitating cross-border exchanges through security, digital technology, blockchain, and artificial intelligence.
Environmental Initiatives
HAROPA's environmental efforts are a significant factor in its recognition as Best Green Port. The port complex promotes consolidated modes and multimodality, and actively fights against global warming. The Environmental Ship Index (ESI) encourages ship-owners to reduce emissions, and HAROPA rewards the greenest shipping companies annually. The Ports of Paris, part of HAROPA, focus on promoting inland waterway transport and have implemented a comprehensive Environmental Strategic Plan with 253 actions.
