The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has announced the first batch of 304 open environmental protection facilities across the petrochemical, power, steel, and building materials industries. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance public engagement and transparency in environmental protection.
Sinopec's Involvement
China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, also known as Sinopec, had 19 of its units selected for this program. These units include Tianjin Petrochemical, Taiyuan Petrochemical, and Zhongtian Hechuang Chemical Branch, among others.
Program Goals
Since 2017, the Ministry has been working with relevant departments to promote the opening of various environmental protection facilities to the public. The goal is to expand this initiative to include more industries by the end of 2024, allowing for both offline and cloud visits.
