Södra

About Sodra

Södra is a Swedish forest industry group and member-owned cooperative that manages and refines wood from its owners’ forests. The company is a major producer of market kraft pulp, alongside sawn timber and other wood products, serving tissue, packaging, and printing segments worldwide.

For the chemical value chain, Södra supplies softwood pulp and a range of forest-based bioproducts derived from the kraft process, including tall oil, turpentine, and bioenergy streams, and pursues R&D in new lignocellulosic materials. Its main pulp mills are located in Värö, Mönsterås, and Mörrum in southern Sweden, integrated with sawmills and energy recovery to improve resource efficiency and reduce emissions. Södra emphasizes sustainable forestry, traceability, and circular use of by-products across its operations.
