Snam S.p.A.

About Snam

Snam S.p.A. is Italy’s leading energy infrastructure operator and one of Europe’s largest natural gas transmission system operators. Headquartered in San Donato Milanese, the company plans, builds, and operates high-pressure gas pipelines, underground storage facilities, and LNG regasification assets in Italy, and holds interests in gas infrastructure across several European markets. Through subsidiaries such as Snam Rete Gas, Stogit, and GNL Italia, it provides transport, storage, and regasification services that underpin energy supply to power, industrial, and chemical sectors.

Snam is also adapting its network for the energy transition, including initiatives to connect biomethane plants, develop hydrogen-ready infrastructure, and enable carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chains by preparing for CO2 transport and storage services. Its infrastructure and system-balancing capabilities support security of supply and decarbonization efforts for energy-intensive industries, including chemicals, across Italy and Europe.
