Serviço Social da Indústria (SESI), known in English as the Social Service of Industry, is a private Brazilian not-for-profit institution founded on July 1, 1946. It operates nationwide through regional departments in all states and the Federal District, funded by contributions from industrial companies.
SESI focuses on enhancing the quality of life for industrial workers, their families, and communities by providing social services in education, health, leisure, culture, nutrition, and citizenship promotion. It maintains a network of over 1,300 units, including schools offering primary, youth, adult, and continuing education tailored to the industrial sector.
As part of Brazil's "Sistema S" alongside entities like SENAI, SESI supports industry competitiveness and sustainable development through worker wellbeing and socially responsible practices, without direct involvement in chemical production.
