Nuclearelectrica (Societatea Natională Nuclearelectrica S.A., SNN) is Romania’s national nuclear power company, majority-owned by the Romanian state and listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. It operates the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant’s two CANDU heavy-water reactors, which provide a significant share of Romania’s electricity.

The company also runs the Fuel Manufacturing Plant (FCN Pitești), producing CANDU fuel bundles from uranium dioxide and supporting key steps of the nuclear fuel cycle under stringent national and EU safety and environmental regulations. Nuclearelectrica is involved in unit refurbishment and capacity expansion projects and collaborates with international partners on nuclear technology and best practices.
