The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is a leading U.S. manufacturing trade association representing companies of all sizes across industrial sectors and all 50 states. Founded in 1895 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., NAM advocates on federal policy issues including tax, trade, energy, environmental and workplace regulation. It provides economic and policy research, legal advocacy through the Manufacturers’ Center for Legal Action, and workforce development programs via The Manufacturing Institute.
For the chemical industry, NAM’s membership includes chemical and materials producers. The association engages on topics such as TSCA implementation and chemical regulation, permitting and infrastructure modernization, process safety, supply chain resilience, energy affordability and reliability, climate and emissions policy, and international trade. Through policy analysis, coalition-building, and industry surveys, NAM supports manufacturers in understanding regulatory changes and competitiveness challenges in U.S. and global markets.
