Mubadala Investment Company PJSC is an Abu Dhabi–based sovereign investor and holding company, wholly owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi. Established in 2017 through the merger of Mubadala Development Company and the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), it manages a diversified global portfolio spanning energy, chemicals, infrastructure, technology, healthcare, and other sectors.
Within the chemical value chain, Mubadala is the owner of NOVA Chemicals, a major North American producer of ethylene and polyethylene, and a major shareholder in Spain’s Cepsa, which operates integrated refining and petrochemical businesses. Through its portfolio and partnerships, Mubadala supports companies and projects involved in polymers, aromatics, and other base and specialty chemicals across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, alongside longer-term investments aligned with the energy transition.
