MadoquaPower2X (MP2X) is a Portuguese consortium developing an integrated green hydrogen and green ammonia complex in Sines. The initiative brings together Madoqua Renewables, Power2X, and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to deploy industrial-scale electrolysis and ammonia synthesis powered by renewable energy.
The project is designed to supply green hydrogen and ammonia for use as low-carbon feedstocks and energy carriers, including applications in chemicals, fertilizers, industrial processes, and maritime fuel. Located within the Sines industrial and logistics hub with access to port infrastructure, MP2X focuses on building a regional value chain that links renewable generation, hydrogen production, ammonia conversion, storage, and export logistics. Its activities align with broader decarbonization goals in the European energy and chemical sectors.
