LAT Nitrogen

LAT Nitrogen is a leading European provider of nitrogen-based products, operating in the fertilizer and industrial chemical markets. The company specializes in crop nutrition fertilizers, technical nitrogen products for industrial uses, and melamine solutions primarily for the woodworking industry.

It was established in 2023 through AGROFERT’s acquisition of Borealis’s fertilizer, technical nitrogen, and melamine businesses. As a subsidiary within the AGROFERT group, LAT Nitrogen maintains production units in Austria (notably Linz) and France, supported by a network of sales offices and warehouses across Western, Central, and Eastern Europe. The company serves customers in around 15 countries with nearly 2,000 employees.

LAT Nitrogen ranks as the second-largest fertilizer producer in Europe and the second-largest melamine producer in Europe. It emphasizes sustainable practices, including projects for low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia production to reduce emissions, aligning with broader industry goals for decarbonization and efficient resource use in agriculture and manufacturing.
