InvestEU

InvestEU is the European Union’s investment program for 2021–2027, designed to mobilize public and private financing for strategic projects across the EU. Built around an EU budget guarantee and implemented mainly through the European Investment Bank Group and national promotional institutions, the program targets four policy areas: sustainable infrastructure; research, innovation and digitalization; small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); and social investment and skills. It also provides advisory support to help projects reach investment readiness.

For the chemical industry, InvestEU can back projects that advance decarbonization, resource and energy efficiency, circular economy solutions, clean technologies, and industrial innovation. This includes financing for process electrification, low-carbon feedstocks, emissions reduction, recycling and waste-to-resource initiatives, advanced materials, and scale‑up of research and pilot facilities. By lowering risk and crowding in private capital, InvestEU helps accelerate investments aligned with EU industrial, climate, and sustainability objectives relevant to chemicals and related value chains.
