The company designs, manufactures, and deploys integrated membrane reactors and separators that convert feedstocks such as ammonia, methanol, and syngas into high-purity hydrogen (up to 99.97%) while achieving high recovery rates of up to 98%. Its systems also separate hydrogen from low-concentration mixtures in pipelines, storage facilities, or natural hydrogen reserves. Key advantages include lower operating temperatures (400-450°C for ammonia cracking), no moving parts, high efficiency, and adaptability to various applications including maritime decarbonization, industrial supply chains, and geological hydrogen extraction.

Founded in 2019 as a spin-off from TECNALIA and Eindhoven University of Technology, H2SITE operates manufacturing facilities in Loiu, Bizkaia, Spain. It has secured over €42 million in funding through Series B rounds led by investors such as Hy24, SC Net Zero Ventures, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Equinor Ventures, and the European Innovation Council Fund. The company has deployed multiple projects across Western Europe and is expanding into large-scale infrastructure in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.

Positioned as an innovator in the hydrogen economy, H2SITE enables cost-effective transport and on-site production of low-carbon hydrogen for hard-to-abate sectors, contributing to decarbonization efforts in energy and mobility industries.
