FINEG is a Belgian entity active in industrial energy infrastructure and heat networks, operating in collaboration with public and private partners in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges region.
As a partner in the ECLUSE steam network, FINEG supports the development and expansion of infrastructure that transports steam recovered from waste-to-energy facilities to industrial users, including chemical sites in and around Waaslandhaven. The project includes a cross-Scheldt tunnel connection to enable supply to companies on the right bank, facilitating direct use of process heat, improving energy efficiency, and helping reduce fossil fuel consumption and associated CO2 emissions within the Antwerp industrial cluster.
The ECLUSE tunnel will transport steam across the Scheldt, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions by connecting waste-to-energy facilities with industrial users.
ECLUSE 2 will transport steam under the Scheldt, reducing CO2 emissions by 100,000 tons annually and supporting green energy goals with a new tunnel for future industrial connections.
ECLUSE reduces CO2 emissions by 100,000 tonnes annually by supplying steam from waste incineration to six chemical companies, supporting Flemish climate goals.
