Ester Loop Infinite Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (ELITe) is a 50:50 joint venture incorporated in India between Ester Industries Limited, a leading Indian manufacturer of polyester films and specialty polymers, and Loop Industries, Inc., a Canadian clean technology company focused on chemical recycling of PET and polyester.
The company deploys Loop’s patented Infinite Loop™ depolymerization technology to chemically recycle polyester textile and plastic waste into high-purity recycled dimethyl terephthalate (rDMT), recycled monoethylene glycol (rMEG), and recycled PET (rPET) resin. These outputs serve as sustainable, lower-carbon feedstocks for the textile, packaging, automotive, electronics, and specialty polymer sectors.
ELITe is developing India’s first Infinite Loop™ manufacturing facility in the Dahej PCPIR region of Bharuch district, Gujarat (with land also referenced near Surat), on approximately 90 acres. The greenfield plant has an initial design capacity of 70,000 tonnes per year of rDMT, 23,000 tonnes of rMEG, and 70,000 tonnes of rPET resin, with provision for expansion by an additional 100,000 tonnes of rPET. The project involves an investment of about Rs 1,600 crore and is scheduled to commence operations by the end of 2027 or 2028, utilizing a high share of renewable energy.
The joint venture has completed front-end engineering design, awarded detailed engineering to Toyo Engineering India, secured offtake agreements including a multi-year deal with Nike as anchor customer for Twist™ polyester resin, and supply arrangements with Taro Plast for rDMT. It also benefits from Loop’s strategic alliance with Hyosung TNC. Registered in Gurgaon, Haryana, ELITe aims to establish India as a significant hub in the global circular polyester economy.
