Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology (Alliance) is a U.S.-based, National Cancer Institute–supported cooperative research group that designs, conducts, and analyzes multicenter clinical trials in cancer. Working across a large network of academic and community hospitals, the Alliance runs phase I–III studies spanning a wide range of tumor types and clinical settings.
The group evaluates chemotherapies, targeted agents, biologics, and immunotherapies—often with biomarker-driven and translational components—to assess efficacy, safety, and optimal use of novel and established treatments. Through partnerships with member institutions and industry sponsors, its trials generate pivotal evidence that informs standards of care, regulatory decisions, and clinical guidelines. Alliance research infrastructure supports rigorous data management and specimen-based investigations, providing decision-grade insights relevant to pharmaceutical and biotechnology development in oncology.
