Key activities include managing R&D funding calls such as the Nuclis R+D Green programme for circular economy and climate-related projects, attracting foreign investment via Catalonia Trade & Investment, and operating a network of offices in Catalonia and approximately 40 international locations. It collaborates with technology centres, clusters, and other entities to facilitate knowledge transfer and innovation.

Established formally in 2010 following the merger of earlier entities (with roots dating back decades), ACCIÓ is an autonomous public body attached to the Department of Business and Labour. It serves tens of thousands of companies annually, mobilising significant investments in private R&D and exports while contributing to economic growth and job creation in the region. As a public funder, it plays a central role in advancing sustainable industrial projects in Catalonia.

Also known as Agency for Business Competitiveness and ACCIÓ - Agència per al creixement de les empreses.
